With non-essential travel prohibited and getaways to other regions discouraged, we need to be a little more imaginative to occupy the family who, more than ever, needs time away from screens, video conferences, and virtual school. Here are some activities to do in the comfort of home, safely.
Everyone outside!
With spring taking its time to show up, the lack of vitamin D can start to be felt by both young and old. Our movements being restricted, it's difficult to get enough light during our workdays. Let's take advantage of spring break to get some fresh air! Whether we're just discovering cross-country skiing, sledding, tobogganing, or snowshoeing, municipal parks are real playgrounds.
If space allows, transform your backyard into an arena and organize a family hockey game. A good clearing session, a surface covered with water and a good night of freezing and you're on your personal ice rink. Laughter and competition will be there. Psst! Don't forget to close this friendly match with a good hot drink... hot chocolate of course.
Budding decorators
If your children are artists at heart, the next project might appeal to them. The idea is simple; give a little love back to a room in the house that is often neglected: the playroom. In addition to teaching them to give, sort, prioritize and recycle, the transformation of the playroom will allow your children to gain responsibility. With them, think about storage systems, but also about the atmosphere and look of the room. This room thus becomes a reflection of their personality and their universe. Why not entrust them with a wall to create a mural? Economical and without real consequence, this large-scale project can easily disappear when selling a home with a good coat of paint.
A world tour...at home
Many families usually take advantage of spring break to discover the world. While sunny destinations may not be part of our medium-term plans, it doesn't mean we can't inject a little exoticism into our daily lives. Why not choose one or two destinations to discover during the week, from the comfort of our home? After choosing your country, discover local restaurants with traditional flavors. In addition to introducing you to a new cuisine, you're supporting local restaurants and entrepreneurs in your neighborhood. Once the meal is finished, snuggle up as a family to watch a movie whose action takes place in the celebrated country.
Do you like the experience? Repeat it by changing continents for maximum discoveries!
